We are a society that believes in overthrowing capitalism and replacing it socialism to create a fairer and more equal society.  At the moment we are engaged in the fight back against the massive spending cuts that will make the poor pay for a crisis started by the rich. That is why we support and campaign for coordinated strikes. Resistance to the cuts has been shown to work when students and lecturers saved philosophy at Keele last year. Unfortunately this means they will come back this year to cut another service, which all students should fight again. We also campaign against racist and fascist organizations like the BNP and EDL, who have an alarmingly large base in Stoke -on-Trent. Joining this society will give you an alternative to the three main political parties who have all proven to be a let down to students both now and in the past.
