Childcare

Full time students with children in childcare should be able to claim 85% of actual childcare costs.  There are rules about the type of childcare and there is a maximum of £148.75 per week for one child and £255 for more than one.  For more info see the link below.

Don't forget that if you are a full time student with dependent children you can claim Child Tax Credit and if you get the maximum amount you are eligible for free school meals for the children.

Gingerbread is the leading support organisation for lone parent families in England and Wales. Gingerbread was started in 1970 and is a registered charity maintained by lone parents. At this site you will find valuable information about support for lone parent families in the area.

Places Of Worship

Keele campus has a Interdenominational Chapel, which provides a focus for Christian worship and a quiet / prayer room called 'The Space', which individuals of any or no faith can use for personal worship or quiet contemplation.

There is a new Mosque located in Barnes Hall that is open to all students on and off campus with facilities for Muslim workship.

There are also student societies deciated to supporting students in their religious worship and life.
