Can my dependants extend their visa in the UK?
The simple answer to this is yes!
Who can be classed as my dependants?
· Spouse or civil partner, as long as they are aged 18 or over.
· Children under 18, or 18 or older if they are already in the UK with immigration permission as a dependant. Unmarried or same sex partner in a relationship and have been living together for 2 years or more.
How much money do I need to have?
If you are applying at the same time as your dependants you will need to have £400.00 per dependant plus £600.00 for you per month for 2 months, in your own or joint bank account.
Example:
If your husband/wife and 2 children are applying at the same time as you, you will need a total of £3600.00 in your account, plus any relevant course costs, for 28 days prior to the application.
This is:
3 x £400.00 (£400.00 per dependant) = £1200.00 per month + £600.00 per month for you.
£2400 (3 x £400.00 x 2 months) + £1200.00 (2 x £600.00) = £3600.00
Can my dependants apply on the same form?
No: If you are applying together, the main applicant has to list his/her dependants on the main form. Each dependant has to then apply on a separate form.
How much does it cost?
The main applicant will have to pay £357.00 for applications made by post
OR
£565.00 for applications made in person at a Public Enquiry Office.
Each dependant will have to pay £50.00 to have their application processed if applying at the same time.
If the dependant applies at a different time or the dependant is over 18 they will have to pay:
£465.00 for application made by post
OR
£665.00 if application made in person at a Public Enquiry Office.
